Thank you for the well wishes, you guys!!! (Just came back from Pilates class...)

I'm still coming off the test session and still can't believe that this test is finally done!!! As cecealias says, it's been a lot of years of work and frustration! As soon as I passed I was practically CRYING onto my test forms!!! Believe me, when I said I barely passed, I meant "by the skin of my teeth!!!" 8O

I still got Bronze FS test to go, so I'm not quite yet out of the "Pre-Bronze FS Club for Life" club yet. As for when I'm testing...hmmm? Depends on who you ask! ;) Jay did say "You better be jumping tomorrow at Berkeley, cuz you're taking NEXT TEST SESSION in Sept!!! 8O (He was SERIOUS!!!) 8O I of course, had to remind him "Should I get my loop consistent first???"

But yes, I can FINALLY skate High FS at our Club Ice session!!!

Go Jazzpants!!! Congratulations to you!!! You deserve champagne and chocolate!!!  :bow:At this point, I'll settle for a nice LOOOOONG nap... (but not 'til after I finish up the test notes for e-skater!!!) ;)

FrankR: OMG!!! LOVE the MJ dance smileys!!! LOL!!! I should subscribe to the gymgossip forum just so I can get all those KEWL smileys you've been posting!!!

AGAIN, THANK YOU YOU GUYS for your support and encouragment! Means a LOT to me!!! :D

Time to get back to practicing jumps and spins again though. Jay wants this Bronze FS done FAST!!! And when he's on my case about stuff, I better get it done as fast as possible. 8O

I think what's required of Bronze FS is so easy compared to Bronze Moves. It's like a vacation. Not to mention it's a 1:40 compared to what, at least ten minutes for the Bronze Moves test?

I'm taking mine in two weeks. Watch me have jinxed myself and now I'll have to retry.

I think what's required of Bronze FS is so easy compared to Bronze Moves. It's like a vacation. Not to mention it's a 1:40 compared to what, at least ten minutes for the Bronze Moves test? 12 minutes at my rink and yes, true up to a point! Though if I have to take any FS tests, I'd rather take it at a test session that doesn't have a lot of skaters, since I would not have that much of a wait between the early morning warm-up before the test session starts and when my test actually is. At my rink the way the test sessions are organized is dances, then moves, then FS! This could take 20 minutes if the session is very quiet, or this could take 1.5 hr to 2 hrs, so you have to keep yourself warm off-ice the entire time. I hate it... but it's necessary!!!

Yes, but those jumps are better for me than the ones I have to do for the test. Waltz/toe? Not something I do on a regular basis.

Our tests start very early in the morning anyway, to allow time for the judge to get to work (we only need more than one judge if the skater is skating higher than level 6), so there's seldom time to skate much beforehand. But each group of skaters gets a warm-up before their actual test, so the sort of warm-up you need to do beforehand is more like that done before a competition.

But each group of skaters gets a warm-up before their actual test, so the sort of warm-up you need to do beforehand is more like that done before a competition. It's 5 minutes warmup right before the test itself and for a skater who has nerves problem are stiff muscles and lower back problems (sciatica), it becomes quite agonizing for the nerves and for the lower leg. It's hard to bend your knee when you're not warm up. You have to stay warm and run, jump around the entire time off ice and my lower back does NOT like jumping/hopping motions for long periods of time (over 20 minutes.) And of course, since you have to be at the BEGINNING of the test session even though you're scheduled for 2 hours down, b/c you never know when skaters either drop out of the test session or whatever and you would have to be there ready to take the test then! (This happened to me in 2004 when I walked in 45 minutes earlier than I was scheduled to test and I walked in to find that I was supposed to be in my dress ready to warm up! Needless to say, both Jay nor I were 8O 8O 8O about this!)
