Does anyone have any show music suggestions? I need to find a song with "Blue" in the title for our spring show. This will be for a freestyle duet (both of us are 50+ Class IV skaters).

Thanks!

There's an old song called "Navy Blue" that would be cute.

The chorus is:
I'm blue, navy blue, I'm as blue as I can be.
'Cause my steady boy said "Ship Ahoy" and joined the Naa-a-vy

The singer was Diane Renay, if that helps.

You didn't say if you were a mixed gender couple, but I think you could give it a go either way: two girls commiserating or a couple acting it out.

Is it okay to have vocals?
What sort of mood do you want to create, slow & romantic or fun and light?

Blue Bayou,
Blue Moon,
Bluesette,
Blue, blue, heart
Blue, blue, my workld is blue,

just for starters.

"She wore blue velvet" would be my choice.

Are you allowed vocals, and how long does it need to be? I can probably cut it for you and e-mail it to you, let me know....

There is a GORGEOUS song on Hayley Westenra's new CD Odyssey, called "Never saw Blue".

Here are the lyrics:

Never Saw Blue

Today we took a walk up the street,
We picked a flower and climbed a hill above the lake
Secret thoughts, u said aloud,
We watched the faces in the clouds
Until the clouds have blown away
Were we ever somewhere else u know
It's hard to say

I never saw a blue like that before
Across the sky, around the world
You're giving me all u have and more
No one else has ever shown me how
To see the world the way I see it now, oh I
I never saw a blue like that

I can't believe
Among the gold I was alone
I didn't know u, I've never seen you, or heard your name
And even now, I'm so amazed it's like a dream
It's like a rainbow, it's like the rain
Some things are the way they are and words just can't explain

I never saw a blue like that before
Across the sky, around the world
You're giving me all u have and more
No one else has ever shown me how
To see the world the way I see it now, oh I
I never saw a blue like that before

It feels like now, it feels always,
And it feels like coming home

I never saw a blue like that before
Across the sky, around the world
You're giving me all u have and more
No one else has ever shown me how
To see the world the way I see it now, oh I
I never saw a blue like that before

Oh, oh I, I never saw blue like that

"Blue Prelude" by Linda Ronstadt is another nice one. It's very jazzy.

Thanks everyone. This is going to be a tough choice. So many good ideas. We can use lyrics, and I think around 1:40.

Mrs. Redboots..............we think alike. That was my first thought too, but it appears we are going for something "peppier".

The theme from the Blue Brothers (Ain't no Stoppin us Now, I think it's called), The Blues Don't Bother Me (Matt Guitar Murphy) if you are looking for something more obscure

Help, am I that old..... no, I was only a teenager when that was in the charts! I am not sure how I would skate to it, though, but it's lovely music.
