I am about your size and I am also working on axels and doubles. I skate on a Jackson Elite Plus with a Pattern 99 blade.
This is the common wisdom I've heard for stock boots:
Wide feet: Jacksons or SP Teris. Jacksons are generally a lighter boot, and have a higher heel. SP Teri allows you to get different widths in the ball and heel.
Narrow feet: Reidells or Harlicks. I can't comment much on these since I don't have narrow feet.
As for customs, people either love or loathe Klingbeils. Any of the other companies will also make customs.

i got new skates and blades about 6 months ago and now i've got parabolic blades. I think they do help you with cleaner edges but not so much that i would pay an extra 100 for them or anything.
If they're not too much more expensive than any other blades you were going to get, then i say, "Go for it!"
happy skating,
:D
