I saw on Heatherw's web site MK pictures http://www.heatherw.com/mk/pics/events/nat05/sp/DSCF4952.JPG

I am curious as to what type of skates she is wearing these days. Maybe this post should be on a more general page, but where we discuss skate decisions here, I thought it more appropriate.

they look like sp teris... but with support added to the side so they don't break down as fast

Yup those are SP Teris. The blades look like Gold Seals because they have the full plate on the underneath, no hole in the middle of the sole like all the other blades do, even though the end of her top toepick made me think they were Pattern 99's at first. But they're not, cause Pattern 99 doesn't have a solid plate.

I am pretty sure she has pattern 99's cause of the toepicks. I have seen in other pics and they were patterns.

Are you sure it's a solid plate? It doesn't look like it to me...

While you're at it. Any idea what kind of skates/blades Katy has?

That is definitely not a Gold Seal toe pick, and even when I brightened the picture and enhanced the contrast I could not be sure if the toe plate was solid. The Ultima Freestyle blade has a toe pick very similar in profile to the Pattern 99, and has a solid toe plate like the Gold Seals. I don't think the pic is clear enough to really be sure what it is.

Her blades look like Pattern 99's to me, but I can't ID the boots. She will be getting new ones soon from the looks of them, though.

Michelle Kwan's are definitely SP-Teri boots. She was on the phone with George Spiteri when I walked into his shop a couple weeks ago... they were discussing new boots.

Sorry, I can't ID the blades.

By process of elimination, I'd say Katy's boots are Jacksons or Klingbiels- I'd say Klingbiels because they are more popular, and it just looks like them. Klingiels or Jacksons, and a Pattern 99 blade. And yeah, I guess it isn't very clear whether or not Michelle's skates have a solid plates, it just looks that way to me. I agree that it's not a Gold Seal toepick though, so either I saw wrong and they are Pattern 99's and there's no solid plate, or it's the Ultima blade someone mentioned.

They are definitely not Klingbeils. Klingbeils have a setback hook at the top (http://www.klingbeilskatingboots.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=stock), and these do not.

Yep *definatly* not Klingbeils. They lack the extra hook up top. Also, Klingbeils don't have white hooks, they have silver ones.

Are you referring to Katy or Michelle?
