I've been working on jumps off the ice, but haven't attempted them on the ice (that just shows you how advanced I am ;) ) When I do an off ice jump-I always have a very sloppy, out of control landing. Any hints for making off ice jumps less messy?

Thanks

Pick a spot to look at when you land, find it quickly as you come out of the jump and look at it while keeping your landing position very strong, arms out to the side and free leg extended. Don't try to land solidly as you would on ice, you have to hop on the spot a few times on the landing.

Also, practice your landing position. This is actually one of our Level 1 Field Moves and you have to do it in both directions: Do a circle of back crossovers, and from them, get into landing position and hold it as far as you can round the circle. This will help you get the feel of what you're aiming for.
