Is the test time given for a particular level the maximum time or is there a window of plus or minus 10 seconds? In other words, can I use my juvenile music of 2min 12sec for my intermediate freeskate test (2min 30sec)?

im not quite shure on this but i think at each higher level u go to u need a more lengthly solo ???

Even if it was +/- 10 secs, 2.12 is more than 10 secs below 2.30, so you wouldn't be able to use it.

In a competition short program, the time for intermediate is 2min. That is a MAXIMUM of 2 minutes. It can be shorter by any amount as long as you get all of the rquired elements in. It just can't go any longer than 2 min, not even by 1 second. I'm asking if it's the same way with the intermediate freeskate test?

I'm almost positive that for tests the rule is + or - ten seconds. So if the test length is 2:30, you'd have to have 2:20 to 2:40 or probably get a deduction. But then again, I thought that was the rule for competition too.

Just for clarification, are you in the US or Canada? It's entirely possible that both countries have different rules.

In the US, the rule for short programs is "not to exceed" - so an Intermediate Short cannot exceed two minutes. Freeskate programs are allowed to be within 10 seconds (plus or minus) of the required time. So, an Intermediate freeskate can be anywhere between 2 minutes and 20 seconds to 2 minutes and 40 seconds.

I don't think you can use your Juvenile program of 2 min., 12 seconds.
