Does anyone know of any books with lesson examples and age-related plans for teaching power skating?

I know that most power skating coaches are figure skaters, but where do they learn how to teach it? I don't want to become a power skating coach or anything like that, I just want to help out the 7-8 year olds on my son's hockey team.

From what I understand, the woman to see to improve your skating in the hockey world is Laura Stamm. She has a website with a book and video available: http://www.laurastamm.com/ though I think that I have seen the book at Borders or Barnes and Noble.

That's perfect. That's what I was looking for - thank you!

Skate Canada operates its own power skating programme - see

http://www.skatecanada.ca/english/programs/skating/canpower.html

In our club the programme is taught by former hockey players - excellent skaters- who have been trained in the Skate Canada programme, not figure skating coaches.

I know I'm not a coach, but when I played hockey, I was also skating a power session for figure skating. And I realized that power pulls and edges and continuous laps and suicide drills really help with speed and power that is needed for hockey players.
